Footlocker

By Joseph Mishler

Footlocker is a story of love, loss, and remembrance.  Set in a time some 30 years after the Vietnam war, a woman confronts a range of emotions and memories when she decides to finally open the footlocker that belonged to her boyfriend who was killed in Vietnam. It was sent to her after his death, and she has never been able to bring herself to open it.  When she finally does, she and her younger self meet in a surreal sequence that brings closure to the woman in many ways.  Throughout the play, one gets a glimpse of the emotions and sentiments of that time in American history – both good and bad.
